Backflow assemblies protect a water supply against reverse flow under particular conditions. Testing or repair should be appropriate to the installed assembly and the requirements of the water authority. A notice or planned maintenance may be a reason to contact a provider for this scope.
Ask whether testing, any corrective parts, retesting and reporting are included. Different assembly types require different procedures. Coverage and provider qualifications should be confirmed for the location and task before arranging a visit.
Testing requirements depend on the assembly, its application and the authority responsible for the water supply. Ask the provider whether the proposed test and any report meet the relevant requirements; do not assume every device has the same schedule. Confirm whether corrective parts, retesting and submission of results are included or separate. Ask about qualifications required for the specific task and how service interruptions will be managed.
